What is Vocational Placement? How do I go about it?

Some courses require students to complete a set number of hours in the workplace to demonstrate and apply the target knowledge and skills for the qualification. For example: - Certificate III in Individual Support requires a minimum of 120 hours of placement in relevant care facilities (Aged Care, Disability Care or Home Care) - Certifciate IV in Ageing Support requires 120 hours of placement in an Aged Care facility - Certificate III in Early Childhood Education requires 120 hours of placement in a Child Care facility - Diploma of Early Childhood Education requires 240 hours of placement in a Child Care facility You will be informed prior to enrolment if your course requires vocational placement. It is encouraged and recommended that you nominate your placement provider. This will help ensure you find one that is most suitable to your preferrences. HPI will provide you the tools you need to initiate contact with your preferred provider. Prior to starting your placement, HPI will contact your nominated provider to ensure they meet all the safety and training requirements. Download the Vocational Placement Packs in your course guide for the complete details of the process.
